Unwind with Mindful Stretching + Relaxation Stretches

Life can get busy and stressful, leaving us feeling tense and overwhelmed. One way to combat this is through mindful stretching and relaxation stretches. Taking a few minutes out of your day to focus on your body and breath can help release tension, increase flexibility, and promote overall well-being. Here are some simple stretches to help you unwind and relax:

Mindful Stretching

Mindful stretching involves paying attention to your body and breathing while performing each stretch. This can help you connect with your body and quiet your mind. Remember to breathe deeply and slowly as you stretch, focusing on each movement.

1. Forward Fold

Stand with your feet hip-width apart and slowly bend forward from your hips, reaching towards the floor. Let your head hang heavy and relax your neck and shoulders. Hold for 30 seconds to 1 minute, breathing deeply.

2. Child's Pose

Kneel on the floor with your toes touching and knees apart. Slowly lower your hips back towards your heels as you reach your arms forward. Rest your forehead on the floor and breathe deeply, feeling a gentle stretch in your back. Hold for 1-2 minutes.

Relaxation stretches are designed to release tension and promote relaxation in the body. These stretches can be done before bedtime to help you unwind and prepare for a restful night's sleep.

1. Spinal Twist

Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Extend your arms out to the sides in a T position. Slowly lower your knees to one side while keeping your shoulders on the ground. Hold for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then switch sides.
